He was born in Çorum, in 1976. He received his bachelor of architecture from Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Architecture in 1998. After receiving his master’s degree from Izmir Institute of Technology, Graduate School of Engineering and Sciences in the field of architecture with the dissertation named “Prison architecture, a typological analysis of spatial organizations in respect to punishment systems” in 2002, he received his Ph.D degree from Dokuz Eylül University, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences in the field of Architectural Design with the dissertation named “A critical approach on architecture as the target object of Turkish cartoons through the cubic house” in 2012.
Currently he is working as an Associate Professor in Dokuz Eylül University, Faculty of Architecture and additionally in İkiartıbir Architecture Office since 2005, in which he is a co-founder with Orhan Ersan and Ferhat Hacıalibeyoğlu.
He was awarded 33 prizes from national architectural competitions with İkiartıbir Architecture among them 7 are first and 4 are equivalent prizes and various buildings. The buildings such as İzmir Architecture Center, Kadirli Municipality Building and Culture Center, Dokuz Eylül University Tınaztepe Campus East Gate and Lüleburgaz Yıldızları Women’s Academy were built. İzmir Architectural Centre was awarded International Architecture Awards 2015 by The European Centre for Architecture, Art Design and Urban Studies, and TSMD Building Awards 2015 in 11th TSMD Architectural Prizes. Lüleburgaz Yıldızları Women’s Academy was awarded Raci Bademli Good Practices Awards 2018 by The Chambers of City Planners of Turkey, and a Merid Award as a part of Turgut Cansever National Architecture Awards Programme 2018 by Kepez Municipality and The Chambers of Architects of Turkey Antalya Branch. Also they were selected among teams for “Izmir Shore Design Project” in 2012 and designed the area from Konak to Inciralti with K2Y Architecture. He served as jury member in various national and student architectural Project competitions. He attended various national symposiums, workshops and panels on competition as guest speaker; published papers on competition practice. He was awarded 20 national and international prizes in Cartoon field.
